About me

Markus Acar, a computer science student at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada, has achieved remarkable success in prestigious science and technology competitions. Hailing from Mardin, Turkey, Markus reached the finals of CERN’s 2020 particle physics competition with their e-detector project and secured third place in the 2018 National Science Project Competition with a smart city initiative.

In 2021, he delivered a TEDx talk titled "Sınırların Ötesine Yolculuk" at TEDxMEFUniversity in Istanbul, emphasizing the importance of perseverance.

    Designed and coded Heddle Hub, an AI-powered application tailored for departmental use within Ontario Shipyards. Utilized OpenAI APIs for the app's core functionality, coded in Python.

  2. Graphene FET-based electron Detector

    January 2020 - May 2020, CERN

    Pioneered the design of a low-cost Graphene FET detector for electron beams on particle accelerators. Ranked in the top 20 (4%) among 500 submissions in the CERN BL4S competition.

TEDx

    Giving a TEDx talk was an experience that I will always cherish. Receiving the invitation to give a TEDx talk filled me with excitement and a sense of honor. I had watched countless TED talks before and admired the speakers who were able to captivate and inspire their audience. Now it was my turn to take the stage and share my ideas.
